32-year-old son of Dana Carvey, Dex Carvey, passed away, earlier this week. As Dana Carvey had announced from his social media account, Dex lost his life due to accidental drug overdose.
Dana had stated from his social media account as, “Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy. Our beloved son, Dex, died of an accidental drug overdose. He was 32 years old.”
“Dex packed a lot into those 32 years. He was extremely talented at so many things–music, art, filmmaking, comedy–and pursued all of them passionately,”
“It’s not an exaggeration to say that Dex loved life.” Dana had announced with his wife, Paula Zwagerman.
Dana had married with Paula in 1983. Dex was their oldest son, and he had a brother, 30-year-old Thomas Carvey.
The couple had stated that, their son, Dex was “made everything fun” and added that, “when you were with him, you loved life too.”
They also stated that, “he loved his family; his friends and his girlfriend, Kaylee,” and their son, “Dex was a beautiful person. His handmade birthday cards are a treasure. We will miss him forever.”

They had concluded their announcement as, “To anyone struggling with addiction or who loves someone struggling with addiction, you are in our hearts and prayers,”
