A couple from Phoenix, Arizona, Carlos and Erica Morales, had sad story, as their happiest day, turned into a tragedy.
They mey in a club at Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2006. At that moment, Carlos didn’t speak English, and Erica didn’t speak Spanish. Carlos had invited Erica to dance with him, and at the end of the night, he gave his phone number with a piece of paper.
But Erica threw that paper away. After a while, they met again thanks to their mutual friends, and their relationship had started.
The couple had learnt their languages to comminucate, as Carlos learnt English, and Erica learnt Spanish.
They had married in 2007. The couple wanted to enlarge their family with their children, so they immediately started their tryings.
They had some miscarriages. But when Erica got treatment for her fertility, they were incredibly happy with the news of her pregnancy. On her first ultrasound examination, they were over the clouds as they learnt that they were going to be parents of quadruplets.
For his wife and children’s health, Carlos had kept Erica away from stress, as he attended to every errand on the house. Unfortunately, on the 12th of January, in 2015, she was rushed to the hospital, as she had a high blood pressure.
On the 15th of January, her doctors stated that they want to deliver the babies, as she had texted to her husband, Carlos.
Carlos immediately rushed to the hospital from his work, as he get the message. The doctors had explained him too that they should deliver the babies as soon as possible to prevent any health issues on the mother.
The couple had taken pictures and videos together, before she went into labor. For their son, they decided Carlos Jr., and for the girls, they named, Tracey and Paisley. They couldn’t think of a name for their fourth child, and decided to name it later on birth.
Carlos had kissed Erica, and said, “Let’s get these babies out.” Before she went into labor. 36-year-old Erica had gave birth to her children, quadruplets, via c-section, on the 15th of January, 2015.
“We were so excited to start our family. And then it all came crashing down.” Carlos had stated.
But their joyful moment, turned into a tragedy, as Erica went into hypovolemic shock. Doctors rushed into the room, and said to Carlos that he should leave the room. After an hour, they had called that Erica was dead.
“How could this have happened? She was fine, and then she wasn’t. She was alive and then she was just gone. I went from having the best day of my life to the next morning experiencing the worst day of my life. My four babies came into the world and then my wife died.” Carlos had said.
As he was waiting with his babies, the nurse had asked their names. “Carlos Jr., Paisley, and Tracey.” said Carlos. Then decided to name his third daughter, Erica.
Carlos is staying strong and focusing on his children, as he had experienced an incredible saddening tragedy. He had taken baby-care lessons, as CPR, how to clean and feed them, etc.
Sondra Bridges, Erica’s mother had moved in with them to care for the children. As she said, “It’s funny how things turn out. Bittersweet, but at the same time, thanks to God, and the outpouring support of the public, it’s been phenomenal. And I’d like to say thank you to each and every one of you. All the support we’ve gotten from you, we appreciate it.”
On Erica’s laptop, they found a will, a note for her children. She wanted her children to learn Spanish and English. And wanted them to work hard, and have good jobs.
