AFTER 53 YEARS FROM THEIR SEPARATION, BEATLESS HAD RELEASED THEIR NEW “LAST SONG”

On the 2nd of October, the Beatless had released their new song, Now and Then, written by John Lennon, and recorded in 1977. As he couldn’t finish the song, Lennon was murdered when it was 1980.

Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison had decided to release a new song as Beatless, in the 90s, as Harrison had stated in their new documentary, Now and Then: The Last Beatles Song, “To hear John’s voice, that’s a thing that we should cherish, and I’m sure he would’ve really enjoyed that opportunity to be with us again,”

Ringo Starr had added, “It was the closest we’ll ever come to having him back in the room,”

“Free as a Bird” and “Real Love,” came from that reunion. They also finished the song, “Now and Then”, too.

Their producer, Jeff Lynne “It was one day – one afternoon, really – messing with it,” said.

“The song had a chorus but is almost totally lacking in verses. We did the backing track, a rough go that we really didn’t finish.”

Paul had stated in his interview with Q Magazine, “It didn’t have a very good title, it needed a bit of reworking, but it had a beautiful verse and it had John singing it,”

“[But] George didn’t like it. The Beatles being a democracy, we didn’t do it.”

George Harrison had passed away on 2001, due to lung cancer. And his passing left Ringo and Paul alone on their project. As they decided to stop their project of Beatles Reunion, when Harrison had passed away too, the duo recently had released their “final Beatles song,” Now and Then.

“All of those memories come flooding back,” Paul had stated, and added, “How lucky was I to have those men in my life and to work with those men so intimately and to come up with such a body of music.”

“To still be working on Beatles music in 2023 – wow.”

Here is the new “final” song from the legendary Beatless, let’s listen the Now and Then together!

Here are some comments for the song from the Beatless fans;

“As a lifetime Beatles fan, there are no words to describe how poignant this is. Thanks to everyone who made this song possible,”

“I was there for their first song. I’m here for their last one. Decades later. Unfreakinbelievable! What a beautiful song!”
