MOTHER-IN-LAW OFFERED $10,000 TO HER SON’S BRIDE SO SHE WOULD LEAVE HER SON, THE BRIDE TRICKED THE MOTHER-IN-LAW
A Redditor had shared a story of her friend on Reddit’s “pettyrevenge” subreddit. The Redditor explained that her friend, who was a nurse from the same hospital where OP was working, started to date with her future husband after she was graduated.
The woman’s future husband’s mother was not a good woman, and she was thinking that a nurse wouldn’t be enough for their family. After their engagement, the mother-in-law was not happy, and tried to break them up for a long time. The mother-in-law “tries to convince Nurse to go back where she came from and simultaneously tries to gently convince her precious son that Nurse may not be good for him.”
“To add some more context to this situation, this MIL is pretty nasty to Nurse but hides it well to other people, always making sure she’s super (fake) sweet to everyone when others are around.”
As the wedding plans are complete, the mother-in-law gets desperate, and she wants to talk with the nurse alone, where she makes an offer, “leave fiance and never come back in exchange for $10,000.”
The Redditor explained that the situation happened 30 years ago, so $10,000 was a big amount for that time.
As the nurse gets offended, plans her moves, and accepts the money. But still, she marries with her husband.

As the Redditor explained nobody knows the truth, and the mother-in-law couldn’t told it to anyone to not let anybody know how awful of a person she is.
“Nurse and husband are still happily married; their kids are grown; husband still has no idea this went down.” the Redditor said.
