8-YEAR-OLD BOY WAS NOT ACCEPTED BY HIS SCHOOL, DUE TO HIS LONG HAIR, MOTHER IS IN A BATTLE AGAINST THEM
An 8-year-old boy from London, England, Farouk James is struggling with his school, as they are rejecting Farouk due to his long and beautiful hair.
His older brother, as he mother Bonnie Miller stated, was told by the school that his hair was too short for the school standarts, as for Farouk, he is rejected by many schools his mother had tried to sing him.
As Bonnie stated, father of Farouk is from Ghana, and for cultural purposes, the parents didn’t cut his hair until he was 3, and at that point, it turned out that Farouk had grown a beautiful hair so they thought that they should keep it that way, as long hair.
“At that point he was attached — and so was I, to be honest — with his beautiful hair,”
“We just kept the hair.”
Bonnie, the troubled mother, had stated from her social media that, “I will not give up trying to persuade governments to put legislation in place to protect children from these outdated, punishing rules,”
“Farouk hasn’t done anything wrong and YOU REJECT HIM! He will say good bye to his friends as they all get accepted into the schools he so desperately wants to attend.”
“We’re getting a real team together and calling it the Mane Generation,”
“We’re going to fight this until these rules get changed. And it’s globally, not just domestically in the U.K.”
In Instagram, the account of Farouk, that is controlling by his mother, has more than 500,000 followers, as he is already has a career as a child model.
In their appearance at This Morning show that is huge in the U.K., the mother and Farouk had talked about their problems with schools not accepting Farouk with his long hair.
On the last year, Bonnie had written from her social media that, “This week is mental health week so I’m surprised to be receiving lots of negative comments about Farouk’s hair,”
“Farouk’s hair is a God given part of him and he will not be cutting it to appease anyone, just as he does not keep it long at my request either.”
