67-YEAR-OLD ANCHOR, KATIE COURIC BECAME A GRANDMOTHER
The famous media person, former “Today” show anchor Katie Couric became grandmother at the age of 67.
Couric shared the news of her grandkid’s birth from her social medai account with some pictures.
On the first picture, Couric shared her daughter, Ellie Monahan, and her husband, Mark Dobrosky, where they were happy to be parents.
In another picture, Couric shared her grandson, where the newborn was snuggled into a white blanket with pibk stripes.
Her grandson, John Albert Dobrosky was born on March 23, at 8:23 in the morning. To pay tribute Couric’s husband, they nicknamed the newbor Jay.
“Albert is after Mark’s paternal grandfather. Mom and Dad (Ellie and Mark) are over the moon (it was a full moon) I am thrilled to have my first grandchild, […] We feel so blessed.” Couric stated.
Back ın December of 2023 Couric had shared from her social media when her children revealed Ellie’s pregnancy to her with a video.
Couric received a bracelet where it was written, “Granny To Be,” on it. After Couric understood what was happening, she started to laugh with joy, where other had joined her in laughter.
On her social media post, Couric stated, “Been dying to tell you. This is what happens when you go to a @taylorswift concert last summer and forget your friendship bracelet and your daughters say, ‘Don’t worry, we made one for you!'”
When Couric shared pictures from her daughter’s baby shower, the famous anchor stated, “Bringing a baby into the world—the ultimate act of love and hope. I am so excited!!! (What do you think she’s having? It’s going to be a delivery room surprise!!!!).”
In 2022, Couric had struggled with breast cancer, which was the biggest challenge of her life, as she fought with the disease for months.
“They’d already lost one parent. The idea of losing another was unfathomable,” she said about her daughters, when she talked about how emotional her fight for her family.
Her husband, Jay Monahan passed away at the age of 42 from colon cancer. She also lost her sister to pancreatic cancer, and her mother-in-law to ovarian cancer.
Couric talked about the day she received her diagnosis. “I felt sick, and the room started to spin,” the former “Today” show anchor said.
