17 YEARS LATER, SHE FOUND HER HUSBAND WHO LEFT HER FEW WEEKS AFTER THEIR WEDDING
She had married with her husband, when she was 26. Richard was the love of her life, as she believed. She had dreamed a house with him, where their children would grow.
Then, one day, Richard left and never returned. She had no clue where he went. And since Richard was an orphan, he had no family ties, that she could use and find him.
She had reached to the authorities, but there were no results to find Richard. As years passed, she had waited for the knocking of Richard, on her door.
She couldn’t forget Richard, so she couldn’t manage to be with some other man. She had a friend, Jake, who was caring for her. She was caring for Jake too, but Richard was on her mind.
As she didn’t let in anyone into her life, she had focused on her career as an engineer. She was in a trip recently, to the other part of the country. She had an early flight on the Monday morning, so she wanted to spend some free time. She went to the local church on Sunday, as she would back in her home, to remind herself some good old times.
As she was leaving with the conclusion of the service, she heard a voice that froze her. She knew that voice, it must be him she had thought. She turned around and saw that tall man from her past. As he saw her too, he was like as if he saw a ghost.
“Honey, are you okay? Are we coming?” Woman next to him said to Richard.
“Yeah, you go. I just wanted to say hi to Mr. Jenkins.” He said.
“Okay, waiting for you in the car,” she said. Then Richard had approached to her and said, “Not here. See me in an hour at Tom’s Cafe, River Street, 6.”
As she was frozen, and devastated, she went to the cafe.
“I know you want an explanation. I definitely owe that to you.” Richard said upon his arrival.
He explained that he had a highschool sweetheart before her, and they were together for seven years. She left him, and Richard was devastated until he met with her. After their marriage, her highschool sweetheart came again and said to Richard that she still loves him.
Sadly, Richard loved her too, and went to her, as he left our storyteller.
“You know that I didn’t remarry and waited for you all these years?” She said.
“What?? No.. You couldn’t.” Richard lost words.
“I did.”
She started to feel as if she was drowning. Then she tried to walk away, but Richard came to her. “I’m sorry, Anna.” He said, and Anna walked away without saying anything.
On the next week, as she wanted to forget Richard, she called Jake and invited him to a date.
It was that moment which woke Anna, as she had a beautiful life with Jake.
