Tom and May have been married for five years, and no matter how they tried, they couldn’t have a baby. Later they learned that May had some health problems which was causing her to be enable to bear a child.
As they decided on surrogacy, their friend suggested her sister, Brittany to be their surrogate mother. As they already knew Brittany and her family, they agreed. They talked about payments plan and how the pregnancy would go.
But things started weirdly, as when Brittany learned that she was pregnant, she only sent Tom the picture of the pregnancy test, despite she had both Tom and May’s contact.
Brittany also had Tom’s credit card info, and she was using it constantly as she would say that the baby needs things.
As May was having problem with the situation, she let it slide for the sake of their future baby. But Brittany kept acting strange, as she wouldn’t even invite May to doctor’s appointments, and she would only talk with Tom about the baby.
Tom was strangely wouldn’t say much about the situation. As it was not a normal situation for them, May didn’t said anything about that too. But she was feeling excluded.
When it was the seventh month of the pregnancy, Brittany and her mother came to Tom and May’s house, and stated that they will not give the child, as she changed her mind.
When her friend said that they can trust Brittany, they didn’t signed any papers too, and that was a bad thing. As they were shocked, they listened the rules of Brittany. She wanted to decide on the name of the baby, as May had deleted the name list Brittany sent to Tom. She also wanted to use Tom’s credit card too for her own expenses, and wanted to spend time with the baby.
She also wanted Tom to be present in the delivery room, which was the last thing May bear to hear. She told her to stop acting like as if she was Tom’s wife, and that she was carrying their child. As Tom stayed quiet, Brittany cried and May told her to stay aware of their boundaries and her role in this arranged pregnancy.
As things proggressed, the baby was born, and Brittany moved in to spend some time with the baby. As May was going to apologize as she was thinking that she was too harsh, she overheard Brittany’s phone talk with Sheila.
They were talking about a plan, where Brittany will act as if she was Tom’s mistress, and that she had their affair child. That was why she wanted Tom to be with her during the doctor’s appointments and in the delivery room.
They were going to file for full custody over the baby, and take everything Tom had. On the next day, they confronted Brittany, and forced her to sign an agreement.
After the baby was born, Brittany and Sheila were out of their lives, where they enjoyed their family.
ANOTHER STORY ABOUT SURROGACY
A 31-year-old woman had shared a story on Reddit’s “AITA” subreddit. The woman stated that her 33-year-old sister asked her to be a surrogate for her, despite she was aware that it would put her sister’s life in danger, and the Redditor refused.
While they were growing up, the sister was the favorite in the house, as OP said, “my parents idolized her because of her looks, grades, she was athletic, and more. She is described as my parents golden apple baby I on the other hand, was both 2 years later. I was an accident. I was born prematurely with a heart condition. Growing up, I was in and out of the hospital receiving countless surgeries.”
Her parents were heartless in their comments against her, as they would say that she was draining their money, while it was her grandmother who was paying for anything their insurance was covering.
“She never hid her hatred towards me. She’d constantly bully me and my parents did nothing about it.” Redditor said about her sister. After she was graduated from her college, she begged her grandparents to help her go to a college away from her sister. “That was the best decision ever because that’s where I met my now husband Greg. Greg was a sweetheart. He always made me feel beautiful no matter what size I was.” OP said about her choice.
After she was graduated from her college, OP got married with her husband Gred, and his family had paid for everything, after OP’s family refused to pay much, as they paid for everything, for OP’s sister’s wedding.
Then OP continued as, “They didn’t even bother to attend the wedding. We ended up choosing to live in the city we graduated in. I rarely talked to my family back home outside of my grandparents. Greg and I later would have a son together. This was a high risk pregnancy. I was advised to terminate early on as the results could be fatal. Luckily we both made it. I almost didn’t though. The amount of strain it put on my heart was destrimental.”
The doctors stated that OP should never consider for a second child, as it would kill her. A month before OP posted her story, her grandfather got sick, and she wanted to be with him, so they moved back to her hometown.
“As soon as I moved back, my parents and sister started acting very nice to me. My mom would ask me how I was doing and tell me how proud she was of me, which is something she never does. My sister would join and do the same. I knew something was up but my grandmother said to give them a chance and maybe they missed me.” OP said about her family’s behaviour. Two weeks later, her mother and sister invited her over as they stated that they have a present for her.
Then they handed OP over a letter, which at first she thought that it was an apology letter. But it was a letter which was informing that her sister was infertile, and their desire for OP’s agreement on becoming a surrogate for her sister.
“I was floored. I told her that I cannot have her baby. I tried to explain what my pregnancy did to my body with my heart and she started crying. My parents began screaming at me for being selfish and not wanting to help out my sister. I explained that doctor’s instructed me no but they said “for family, you take risks”. I couldn’t believe it. I grabbed my husband and stormed out. I can’t help but to feel bad still.” OP continued, and asked for advices.
