90-year-old legendary actor had stated that, “You don’t have leading men at 90!”
After becoming 90, Sir Michael, had stated that he is retiring from acting, after his lifelong career that is beyond the success of imagining.
In his interview at, BBC Radio 4, “I keep saying I’m going to retire. Well I am now.” Sir Michael had said.
“I’ve figured, I’ve had a picture where I’ve played the lead and had incredible reviews… What am I going to do that will beat this?”
He had acted in the classic movies like, Zulu, The Italian Job, Interstellar, and the Dark Knight series.
About his decision to retire, legendary actor stated that he no longer able to move as he would like to, due to his health condition and his spinal surgery, “The only parts I’m liable to get now are 90-year-old men. Or maybe 85.” Sir Michael Caine stated.
“They’re not going to be the lead. You don’t have leading men at 90, you’re going to have young handsome boys and girls. So I thought, I might as well leave with all this.”
For his final movie, The Great Escaper, which will be released on the 6th of October, he admitted that he declined the role for three times, since he accepted that he is retired now.
In the movie, he took part with his co-star, Glenda Jackson, who passed away after finishing the movie.
He announced his retirement, months before releasing his book, Deadly Game.
Back in June, “It’s been my ambition for years to write a thriller. It’s the genre I most love to read and I’ve really got a buzz out of working on Deadly Game and teaming up with Hodder once again to publish it.” said Sir Michael Caine.
“I hope readers enjoy getting to know Harry Taylor as much as I did.” The actor said about his novel.
Back in an interview that he had with DailyMail, he had given the secrets of a long marriage, as, “younger wives, no snacking and wearing trainers all the time – and you have to be careful not to fall down.”
Back in 1973, he had married with Shakira Baksh, when he was 40, and Shakira was 26.
The couple had one child, their daughter, Natasha in their marriage, and three grandchildren from their daughter. “You want to live forever to see what they do with their lives.” Said Sir Michael.
