Famous director Ron Howard talked about his parenthood in 2010, in an interview. Howard has four children, a son and three daughters. As his every child has his hair color, his granddaughter has blonde hair. In the interview, Howard talked about the things he experienced during his fatherhood.
“I felt pressure about being a father, more pressure than I would have ever imagined — trying to do it right, to be what I should be to my kids,” Howard shared.
“I think I’ve probably learned more and grown more because I’m a father than for any other reason,” the award-winning director continued.
Ron Howard married with his wife, Cheryl Howard in 1975. The couple had their daughter, Bryce Howard in 1981. Later, the couple had their twins in 1985, Paige and Jocelyn. And in 1987, the only son of the couple, Reed Howard was born.
Howard shared that when their first child, their daughter was born, everything was “manageable,” but after they learned that they are having twins, things changed.
Howard shared that his wife spent months in bed, as he was attending houseworks all alone. “For the first time in my life, I had to take a lot of extra responsibility at home,” the director shared.
But successful director had worked on his movie, “Cocoon,” during that era. “And I suddenly realized that I could handle it. I think that was a watershed time in my life both as a parent and as a person,” Howard said.
His eldest daughter, Bryce has given two grandchildren to Ron. Theo is her son, and she also has a daughter, Beatrice. From his other daughters, he had two more grandchildren, Elodie and Aspen.
Their son, Reed, was married in 2015, where Ron Howard used social media to announce his son’s wedding with his wife, Ashley.
“[…] It was a whirlwind of a celebration at the Winvian Farm,” Ron Howard stated in the pictures he shared from the wedding.
On the Father’s Day of 2019, Howard had celebrated his son, with a picture where his son was feeding his daughter, Aspen. Howard captioned the picture as, “Happy 1st #FathersDay @reedchoward Good job, son. I’m a proud #Dad and #Grandad today and every day.”
And in 2020, Reed’s wife, Ashley had paid tribute to her husband, Reed, from her social media account with a picture she shared where Reed was attending to his daughter.
[…] I have the most loyal, honest, loving, kind man that I not only get to call my husband, but also the father to the cutest, sweetest, funniest, most independent little lady around,” Ashley stated about her husband, Reed.
Reed’s wife, Ashley also shared a picture on the Mother’s Day of 2023. Ashley shared a picture of her daughter, Aspen, and stated that being her mother was an honor for herself.
The couple also taking their daughter into various activities together. In 2022, Reed shared a video where he was entering an ice bathtub, as he shared that it was a “warm summer day.”
Reed also likes to play golf, where one can find pictures of him golfing, if one enters to his social media account. He shared a picture of himself while golfing, in 2021.
Ashley and Reed had celebrated their 8th anniversary this year. Ashley went to the concert of Taylor Swift, which Reed joked that his wife ditched him.
“What else was I supposed to do?” Then he asked, and showed his daughter, Aspen, dancing to the songs in the concert.
As we can see from the videos the couple is sharing, their daughter, Aspen has blonde hair. It is interesting because every Howard has their unique haircolor.
It is clearly visible the difference on the haircolor, where Reed and his daughter, Aspen is sitting on the couch, and watching TV together, in one of Reed’s social media post.
Reed and his whole family have red hair. In 2019, Ron Howard shared a picture for the 91st birthday of Reed’s grandfather, where every Howard in the picture have red hair.
