PARIS JACKSON, DAUGHTER OF MICHAEL JACKSON, IDENTIFIES HERSELF AS BLACK
The only daughter of legend Michael Jackson, had his daughter Paris Jackson from Debbie Rowe. 25-year-old Paris has two brothers, 22-year-old Bigi and 27-year-old Prince.
When his children were young, Jackson had protected his children from public and media, as he would make theam wear masks and veils.
In 2007, Jackson’s bodyguard had stated to PEOPLE that the children were “well-mannered, well-behaved kids…They are really level-headed…They were Michael’s first priority.”
When it was 2009, the protection was over, as sadly the legend, Michael Jackson passed away, the children were left alone in front of the public. And that left a trauma on Paris.
“I experience audio hallucinations, sometimes, with camera clicks and severe paranoia and have been going to therapy for a lot of things, but that included.”
Paris also revealed that she attempted suicide “multiple times” when she was 15, and in 2019, she went to a treatment center. “It was just self-hatred…Low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn’t do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore.”
When Paris talked about her big brother, Prince Michael Jackson, she said, “He’s everything to me, you know?”
“I’ve always looked up to him and always wanted his approval and everything, and wanted to be more like him.”
Prince stated that his little sister is similar to their father. “Basically, as a person, she is who my dad is. The only thing that’s different would be her age and her gender.”
He also stated that Paris is like their father “in all of her strengths, and almost all of her weaknesses as well. She’s very passionate.”
As Paris had modelles for Chanel, she is also the member of her band, The Soundflowers. “Everyone in my family does music. I mean, I’m a Jackson,” Paris said in 2020. “It makes sense that I’m a musician but like, a Jackson doing folk indie?”
When Michael Jackson was criticised for escaping from his race, as through the diseases he struggled his skin color changed, in his 1993 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jackson said, “I am proud of my race. I am proud of who I am.”
And as her father didn’t escaped from his race, Paris stated that she identifies herself as black too. In her interview with the Rolling Stones, Paris stated that she “considers [herself] black,” and “[Michael] would look me in the eyes and he’d point his finger at me and he’d be like, ‘You’re black. Be proud of your roots.’”
“And I’d be like, ‘okay, he’s my dad, why would he lie to me?’ So I just believe what he told me. [Because], to my knowledge, he’s never lied to me.”
After Paris’ interview, Wendy Williams had talked about Paris idetifying herself as black, and said, “I get that she considers herself black and everything, but I’m just talking about the visual because you know…black is not what you call yourself, it’s what the cops see you when they got steel to your neck on the turnpike.”
