MOTHER-IN-LAW HAD CONVINCED HER SON TO TAKE A PATERNITY TEST, BEHIND HER DAUGHTER-IN-LAW’S BACK

A mother had shared on Reddit’s r/JUSTNOMIL subreddit that her mother-in-law had convinced her husband to take a paternity test on their child, behind the mother. His mother had called them to her house, as they newly arrived to their home from work, and showed the result of the paternity test.

She had explained that her mother-in-law was the person who was watching her daughter, as both of them were working. “She is generally nice, isnt a fan for how my husband and I eloped, but accepted it and somewhat welcomed me into the family. She was (emphasis on was) watching our daughter while both my husband and I worked so we didnt have to put her in daycare, but after this incident, daycare is where our daughter goes.”

Then the mother-in-law was suspicious about her granddaughter, and did a paternity test, behind them, but she took sample from the OP’s adopted brother-in-law, which she wanted to make the test negative. “MIL decided that my daughter looked nothing like my husband and decided to do a paternity test on her. Well the weird part is she didnt test my husband. She tested my Brother in law, who is adopted. Yep decided for herself to sabotage these test results so that when they came back it would say he wasn’t the father.”

She had called them from their work, as she stated that they should come to her house ASAP! “We got a call from MIL saying we needed to come over ASAP, both being at work, we got off, rushed over there to be presented this piece of mail. This mail was the paternity test, confused my husband opened it and read it, turns out it said that the the paternity test came as not the father.”

Then her mother-in-law had accused the mother with cheating on her son. “Husband angry demanded to know what this was about, I was generally confused and then Edith decided to chime in and say that she knew I was sleeping behind my husbands back and this was just the cake on the icing and he needs to divorce me immediately.”

Then they had figured it out. “So after talking for a few minutes we realized he never got tested. Not once did he sign to a test to test our daughter. So it ht us, she tested our daughter, but not with our husband, so obviously it would show up as not the father.”

Then she accused her MIL with sabotaging their marriage. “Bitch tried to sabotage our marriage, tried to get my husband to leave me because I cheated (never did). We went to a paternity test place in town and decided to test my husband just to show Edith she was wrong.”

Then they called the MIL, and showed the true results of the test. “Got the results back yesterday, and when Edith decided to drop our daughter off at our house, we told her we had some interesting news. We showed her the results, flabbergasted and red faced she began saying that i butchered the test, my husband cant be the father because she KNOWS, i must have had the real father do the test so my husband wouldn’t leave me. Its just this giant plan to get all his money and inheritance.”

“No Edith it isnt, I didn’t cheat on my husband, I love him and he’s the father of our daughter, so got edith these test results and find a new hobby, we arent taking it anymore.” she concluded her post.
