As Jessica was getting ready for her wedding, her mother-in-law came into her room, and demanded Jessica to pay for her wedding hair, makeup and outfits. If not for her mother, she wouldn’t be handling the situations.
As for her wedding, Jessice worked with professionals for her hair and makeup. She was the one who chose the theme too.
Jessica’s fiance, Liam, and herself thought that it would be a surprise for them to Jessica’s payment, as she handed out $350 to each person.
As she was at her hotel room, getting ready for her wedding with her maid of honor, her mother-in-law barged into the room. As Samantha barged in, she gave an envelope to Jessica.
“Aww, open it!” Said Sienna, Jessica’s best friend and maid of honor.
Jessica thought that it was a sweet note, a keepsake for Jessica from her mother-in-law, and as Liam was an only child, Jessica thought that maybe her mother-in-law would give her a jewelry.
But it was not something Jessica thought of. It was a breakdown of Samantha’s wedding expenses.
“Hair: $350
Makeup: $300
Dress: $500”
“Um,” Jessica was confused, and shocked.
“Come on, Jessica,” Samantha said, “Your measly $350 was nothing! Pay the entire bill if you want to do something meaningful.”
Jessica was looking at Samantha and Sienna, as she was frozen with shock. As she could have done anything, her mother came, from where she went to steam her dress.
“Enough, Samantha. That’s not how you speak to my child, let alone the woman marrying your son,” her mother said.
Jessica had some suspicions over Samantha, for not liking her, but she was thinking that she would try her hard to get along with her for her son, Liam.
“Olivia,” Samantha said, “No,” said Olivia. “Let me speak. I love your son as if he were my own. And I am genuinely so happy that they found each other. But you cannot barge into my daughter’s room and demand that she pay your bill. She already gave you money as a gesture of love and appreciation. How is that not enough for you?”
“Jessica owes you nothing. You will apologize to my daughter, or I will personally kick you out of their wedding.”
“Do you want me to call Liam?” Jessica asked. “Were you expecting me to call off the wedding?”
Then Liam appeared at the door.
“So, what will it be?” Olivia asked, as she took a sip from her champagne.
“I’m going downstairs,” Samantha said then, “I’ll just ensure the flowers and everything are in place.”
“Are you okay, honey?” Olivia asked to Jessica.
“Yeah, Mom. I’m ready to get married,” Jessica smiled.
