JESUS ACEVES, THE WOLF MAN WHO HAD TWO DAUGHTERS THAT ARE LOOKING LIKE HIM
Jesus was 12 when he had joined to a circus, when a man had came towards them, and offered him and his cousin a place at a circus.
Aceves is suffering from hypertrichosis, and it’s not just him, his family has members with the condition. With his conditions, he is named, “The Wolf Man”, and when he was little, his family called him, “The Little Wolf.”
Aceves grew in Loreto, a little town in Mexico. As his family were affected from hypertrichosis, they were receiving bad treatment from the community.
As a kid, Aceves had suffered a lot since his peers had bullied him both verbally and physically.
“It’s not a bad place where you make money doing something bad. It’s a decent job. As an artist, you entertain people and make them laugh.” Aceves had stated in, “Chuy, The Wolf Man,”
As he had worked in circus, he had bad times, as he had a problem with alcohol, and his cousins were locked away so people wouldn’t see them in the street.
After he left the circus, he returned to his hometown, and build his own family. He married and welcomed three children. His children are suffering from his condition too, as his oldest child, Karla stated, “Sometimes kids will say things that offend me because sometimes adults will put things in children’s heads. They call me names and they even tell their kids not to be my friends.”
After his career at the circus, he tried to find a new job for himself. He tried a lot, but he had struggled with his search, since his look had affected the opinion of others.
To find a job, he needed to do something he never did, he has to shave his face. He found temporary jobs as he did shave his face, and take care of his family.
And he stated that it is harder for her daughters because the people would react harder to females who are suffering from hypertrichosis.
Wife of Aceves, has another point of view, as she stated, “…for me it has been a blessing to have a daughter like this. I don’t think it’s a curse. Quite the opposite. It’s a blessing for whoever has hair.”
Karla, his eldest daughter said, “I was born like this, and I want to stay like this.”
