GOLDIE HAWN HAD EXPLAINED THE REASON WHY SHE NEVER MARRIED WITH KURT RUSSEL
77-year-old star had stated the reason why she didn’t married with her partner, 72-year-old Kurt Russel. They are together for almost four decades, and the couple living together as partners, but not husband and wife.
Both of them had experienced marriage and divorce before their relationship had started. They both have children from their past relationships too, and together they had their son, Wyatt Russell.
When Goldie was on the, Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? Show, she was asked, “Why aren’t the two of you married?”
As she said, “Why should we be? Isn’t that a better question?”
“When it doesn’t work out, it ends up to be big business,” she had added.
“It’s always ugly. Somebody actually has to take a look and say, ‘How many divorces actually are fun? How many divorces actually don’t cost money? How many divorces actually make you hate the person more than you did before? How many divorces have hurt children?’” Hawn said.
“But [you and Russell have] been together 40 years, you’re not going to get divorced.” Wallace continued.
“How did you know that then?” Goldie answered.
“I mean, you know, relationships are hard,”
“They’re not always easy. There’s all kinds of hurdles we go through. There’s things that we believe in, things we don’t believe in, agree on.”
“So I think ultimately staying independent with independent thinking is important, so you can hold on to yourself, and you can actually have that feeling,” she said and added, “marriage certificate wasn’t going to create anything that otherwise we wouldn’t have.”
