Tom had threw a party to celebrate his wife, Mia’s 42nd birthday. Tom’s daughter 17-year-old Harper, from his previous marriage, was cold against Mia. But when Harper wanted to be there, Mia didn’t refused as she wanted to be on good terms with Harper.
Mia was a great person with great virtues, she was forgiving, loving, kind, warm, understanding, considerate, caring, and many more. She was the opposite of Harper.
Harper was vindictive, condescending, argumentative, unforgiving, and sometimes cruel. The same traits which led Tom to divorce Harper’s mother.
At the party, after the dinner, Tom noticed that Mia’s face was off. She was nervous and unhappy. As he was concerned, he pulled Mia to a corner and asked, “Mia, what’s wrong?”
Mia tried to say nothing, and pretend that no big deal happened. But Tom was pursuasive. He continued as, “My love, it’s me, your husband. Please tell me what’s bothering you so we can fix it. Today is your special day, and I don’t want anything negative coming in between that. What happened, babe?”
Then Mia showed a bra, which revealed that Harper had gifted to her. This was an incredibly cruel gift from Harper, because Mia had struggled with battle cancer, and this gift was to hurt Mia.
“I… I can’t believe this,” Mia said, and couldn’t hold her tears back anymore as she broke down crying.
Tom found Harper in the living room, and confronted immediately. “Harper! How could you think this was appropriate?”
“Dad, it’s just a joke. Can’t you take a joke?” Harper said.
“A joke?” Tom yelled, “Mia’s cancer was no joke!”
As the tension raised, “You were looking forward to that car for your 18th birthday? Well, forget it. Not until you apologize to Mia!” Tom said.
Then Harper screamed, and accused Tom with favoring Mia over herself. She slammed the door and left. Then Tom saw his daughter sitting on the porch, called someone and after she talked, she came back inside. “What happened, what did you do?” Tom asked.
After the noise, Mia rushed into the living room. “Don’t worry about it, my love, Harper just needs to clear her head, and she’ll come and apologize for what she did,” Tom said. “You didn’t have to confront her like that. What did you say to make her so angry?” Mia responded.
As Tom explained the choice he gave to his daughter, Mia found it too harsh. Then Harper left, as her stepsister had arrived with her car to pick her up.
Few hours later Tom’s phone started to rang, as Harper’s mother was on the line. She accused Tom with screaming at Harper over “such a small thing.” That led to a heated argument.

Richard had a daughter Amy, and his second wife, Beth, brought her daughters, Chelsea and Jess into their lives. Sadly, the stepsisters of Amy were trouble.
When Chelsea became pregnant, and after the engagement she had with her boyfriend fell off, “I need a new direction for my life, and Amy’s room is ‘perfect,’” she declared.
As Amy was shocked, she turned to her father as, “Dad, you’re not gonna let them turn my room into a baby disco, are you?”
“Over my dead body! Your room is your kingdom, Amy, and I’m the dragon guarding it,” Richard said, as he was rejecting Chelsea’s request.
Few days later Richard needed to go to a business trip, and Beth assured Richard as, “We’ll be fine, just a happy family sitcom playing out.”
But the terrible things happened after Richard left. Chelsea had claimed Amy’s room. “The baby demands more space!” she said and sent Amy to the basement.
As Richard returned, he found his daughter in the basement. Chelsea was living in her room. “They’ve turned my life into a bad reality show, Dad!” Amy cried.
“This ends now!” Richard went to confront Chelsea. “Chelsea, you’re either out of that room or out of this house!”
As the heath rised, “Look, I just want peace… and my room back,” Amy said.
“I promise to do better,” Jess said. “And I’ll return your room,” Chelsea added.
As Beth agreed, “Let’s work on being a family, not a reality show cast.” she said.
And the battle ended with Richard’s arrival, as he was the knight in an shining armor for his daughter.
