AFTER THE SON SAW HIS MOTHER’S WILL, HE WANTED FROM HIS MOTHER TO PACK HER THINGS

As Gerald Nizbit was looking through the emails he got, he got frozen behind the screen he was looking. He then called Helen, his secretary and said, “Get me my lawyer on the phone, then Margaret Pratt, then my mother — in that order!”

Helen immediately called the names her boss wanted from her. He saw that her boss, Gerald was not in a healthy state of mind, as he was looking at his screen and shaking his head.

Then Helen connected the lawyer to her boss, Gerald said, “Sam, old boy, I just wanted to advise you that you committed a faux pas! You sent me my mother’s will for approval instead of sending it to her.”

As the lawyer stated that he was sorry, and embarrassed, Gerald had talked and hung the phone up. Then he waited for his next call. The next was Margaret Pratt. He reached to his phone after Helen connected the call, and he stated his requirements, and continued, “I want it for today, Miss Pratt.”

“If you can’t get it sorted, I’ll go to someone who can.”

The words Gerald heard made him smile, and he contiued, “This afternoon then, at 17:00,”

As he hung the phone again, he shouted at Helen, “Helen, you can get me my mother now,”

In seconds, his phone ranged again. “Mother!” He said, “Have two things to tell you. First of all Sam Kelson sent me your new will by mistake…and I want you to pack your bags immediately.”

As Gerald said that, his mother, Mrs. Edith Nezbit was shocked. She said, “Gerald…Are you upset about the will? Please let me explain…”

“I don’t need your explanations, Mother, I need you to have your bags packed and be ready to leave by 16:00,” Gerald cut her words, then he hung the phone. Edith’s heart was broken with what she heard. She believed that her son would understand.

Gerald was the youngest among his other two siblings. He was the one who helped his mother, against the every obstacle Edith had came across with.

After her arthritis became a problem, and she was facing with being a cripple, Gerald took his 62-year-old mother to live with him.

She was packing her things, as she was thinking that her son would understand why she left all her money to her other two children. She was in tears.

She called the housemaid to help her with the suitcases, but she wanted to talk with her son, as she wanted to explain him.

When it was 16:00, Gerald entered the house, kissed his mother on her cheek, and Edith said, as she was crying, “Please Gerald. let me explain!”

“I don’t have time for explanations, Mother. Come,” Gerald said, “Everything is arranged.”

He took his mother’s bags and put them inside of the trunk of his car.

“Where are we going, Gerald?” She asked, as she went into the car. But Gerald did not responded, and turn the radio on.

“Listen, Gerald, about the will…” Edith continued, “Oh, the will!” Gerald cut her again.

“The will in which you leave your house and $120,000 in savings to be divided between Amy and Oliver, and I get the old cabin by the lake and grandfather’s photos from the war, and dad’s watch?”

“Yes…” Edith said, in silent. “You see…” She was continuing, but Gerald stopped the car, as they arrived to a small airport.

“Oh, mom, I understand about the house and the money. Amy and Oliver are struggling and I have more money than I could ever spend.” Gerald continued.

“But what you are leaving me, mom, shows me how well you understand me. You know exactly what is important to me and close to my heart. I have all the money I need but the memories you are giving me are precious!”

“But Gerald…” gasped Edith. “I thought you were kicking me out!”
“No such luck! I’m taking you to Tahiti for two weeks. I think it would do your arthritis the world of good, and I could use some quality time with my mom!” Gerald explained.

As Edith lost words, she hugged to her favorite child. She felt that Gerald was aware of the situation.
