A PHONE SPECIALIST HAD GIVEN ADVICES ABOUT MOBILE PHONES

He stated the reasons why the newly bough phone’s battery life reduces in a year. And then he proceed to explain the things that owner would do to prevent that.

Ritesh Chugh, professor in Information and Communications Technology at CQUniversity Australia, had stated, “Most new-generation smartphones will take somewhere between 30 minutes and two hours to charge fully.”
“Therefore, charging your phone overnight is not only unnecessary, it also accelerates battery ageing.”
He explained that there are several things that is affecting the condition of the batteries of new generaions of phones.
He stated that the lithium-ion batteries, which are used in the new generations of smart phones, there are variables as, the charging patterns, temperature, etc.

When owners left their phones to charge overnight, the battery receives the four times more power than it needs, and this is a reason why smartphones batteries are reducing their battery lives.
Actually, the new generation of smart phones, are stopping charging, when they reach to 100, but with the apps that are working on the background, the percentage drops to 99, and the phone starts to charge again. This situation is called, “trickle charge”.
“Trickle charging can wear a battery down over time” he said.
“That’s why many manufacturers have features to regulate it. “
“Apple’s iPhones offer functionality to delay charging past 80 per cent. Samsung’s Galaxy phones provide the option to cap the charge at 85 per cent.”

Finishing the battery, is another reason for lithium-ion batteries to die sooner than expected.
The battery level should be between 20 and 80 percent for a long living battery.
Kewin Charron, from Back Market, had stated that, “For iPhones with iOS 13 and beyond, go into your iPhone Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging, and select Optimized Battery Charging”
“This setting will automatically reduce the wear on your battery, improving its lifespan.”

Charon added that, “by going into your Settings, and then selecting Battery > Battery Usage, you can see your battery health.”
“Then, under Manage Battery Usage, tap Optimized to automatically help extend the longevity of your battery”
The debris inside the charging socket is one other reason that is affecting battery life.
“Crumbs and dust are the enemies of your mobile devices and your battery life.” Charon said.
“Dust accumulates in the charging ports of your phone, causing the device to overheat or stop charging.”

“Cleaning your phone safely can ensure your battery isn’t overheating, which can cause long-term damage.”
“The first thing to do before cleaning your phone is to switch your device off. Then, shine a light on your device to see how much dust you’re dealing with” Charon continued.
“Use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth to wipe around the area of the charging port. To remove the debris within the port, use a toothpick, moving it from side to side, making sure you’re gentle as this area is very susceptible to damage.”
“As debris comes out, wipe it away with your cloth and go in again with a clean toothpick.”
